ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday directed to ponder over decreasing provincial taxes in the field of construction.
The Premier chaired a huddle to promote the field of construction while Chairman of Naya Pakistan Housing Authority, Chairman FBR, provincial chief secretaries and senior officials of provincial governments.
The meeting reviewed the progress made so far on the provision of private homes to low paid people under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.
The sitting was briefed that a sales tax imposed during the construction face will be abolished while it has been agreed to charge fixed tax on the sale of the constructed house.
The houses constructed under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme will be exempted from tax.
The briefing also told that the measures are being taken to reduce the rate of capital value tax while Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan are approving the implementation on the decision.
Addressing at the occasion the PM said that the promotion of construction industry is a topmost priority of the government while the promotion of construction sector will speed up the economic process and boast other 40 major industries as well.
