ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday directed to expedite the process of restructuring of Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) in order to make it a strong and vibrant institution.
He issued the directive while chairing a high-level meeting on the reorganization of state-run TV in Islamabad.
PM Imran stressed that PTV has an important role in highlighting the national identity. “PTI government wants to turn PTV into an independent institution,” he added.
The Prime Minister was given a detailed briefing on administrative and financial affairs of PTV and its reorganization.
The meeting was attended by special assistant to the prime minister on information and technology Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, PM’s advisor Yousuf Baig Mirza, spokesperson Nadeem Afzal Chan, Senator Faisal Javed, Acting MD PTV Hassan Imad and other senior officers attended the meeting.
