PM, Govt Big Brass Mulling Strategy to End sit-in

Islamabad (November 20, 2017): The big brass of government including Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi are busy on Monday in drafting strategy to end sit-in as per the Islamabad High Court orders.

A high level meeting presiding over by the PM Abbasi held in Islamabad and interior minister Ahsan Iqbal briefed the meeting over the dialogue with Dharana Committee and the development made so far.

Meeting has pondered to use of forces implementing the orders of court, however committee still indecisive over the use of forces and has the stance to end sit-in peacefully.

Earlier , the long meeting between the Ulema and government chaired by interior minister Ahsan Iqbal has ended yielding any positive results, however they formed another committee led by the Pir Hussainudin Shah to find out the path to end the sit-in in conducive environment.

Reading the declaration of the meeting, Sardar Yousaf, accompanied with interior minister Ahsan Iqbal told the media “Meeting has unanimously agreed that the belief of finality of Hazrat Muhammad (PBH) is part of our soul and any altration in it will not be tolerated.”

He further mentioned that the situation of the country was concerning and all the stakeholders should play positive role to end the sit-in so that incident like Model Town could be avoided.

Talking to media, on the occasion, interior minister Ahsan Iqbal said that government wanted to solve the issue amicably and through dialogue and he hoped that with the help of Ulema the issue would be resolved soon.

“Ulema has agreed that all the stakeholders should play role to end sit-in peacefully and also agreed to form a talk committee to solve the issue in next 48 hours,” he said adding that Pakistan can’t bear any violence and unrest situation at the moment.

He mentioned that the conduct of the protesters was aggressive which was posing threat to the life and property of the people , however he added that any premature attempt could be caused backlash.
