Islamabad (December 05, 2018): PM Imran Khan and Microsoft Co-founder Bill Gates spoke on the phone in which, Bill Gates congratulated Imran Khan on his election as prime minister.
In the telephonic conversation, Gates assured his continuing support in different fields including strengthening the IT sector in Pakistan. The sources said Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked Bill Gates for the support he has extended in social sector.
Bill Gates praised Pakistani leader for his efforts for eradication of polio.
Pakistan has been battling polio for the past several years and is close to completely eradicating the disease. The number of cases declined from 306 in 2014 to 54 in 2015, 20 in 2016 and eight in 2017.
Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his resolve to eradicate the polio virus from Pakistan.
He tweeted: ‘Our government is fully committed to ending polio in Pakistan. On #WorldPolioDay, I am confident, together with our people, we will achieve a safer, healthier and polio-free Pakistan for our children.’
In 2018, six polio cases have so far been reported. As Pakistan is one of the only three countries in the world, along with Afghanistan and Nigeria, that suffers from endemic polio.
Earlier on November 29, addressing a ceremony to mark his government’s 100 days in office, PM Imran said the government will give eggs and chickens to rural women so they can start their own poultry business.
People started making fun of the plan on social media.
Prime Minister Imran Khan responded to the criticism of his idea to use poultry as a tool to eradicate poverty from the country by saying that those who criticize the formula have a slave, colonized mind.
In a tweet, Premier hit back at the people who make fun of his plan that he proposed during his address at the PTI’s 100 days completion ceremony.

In response to the criticism, the premier took to Twitter to share an article regarding Gates’ chicken plan and wrote, “For the colonised minds when desis talk about chickens combating poverty they get mocked, but when ‘walaitis’ talk about desi chicken and poverty it’s brilliance!”
