PM Imran Greets Yasir Shah Over Stunning Performance

Islamabad (December 07, 2018): Prime Minister Imran Khan has congratulated cricketer Yasir Shah in a tweet earlier in the day today for breaking an 82-year old record to become the fastest bowler to reach the 200 test wickets in mere 33 matches.

The Premier tweeted, “Congratulations to Yasir Shah who broke an 82-year-old record held by an Australian & became the fastest bowler to reach the 200 test wickets’ milestone in just 33 matches.”

“Last week he had equalled my record of 14 wickets in a test match. Stellar performance,” he added.

Earlier on Thursday (December 06), during the ongoing test match between Pakistan and New Zealand in Abu Dhabi, the 32-Year Leg-spinner Yasir Shah made history by becoming the fastest bowler to reach 200 wickets.Yasir has made history in Abu Dhabi against New Zealand today by claiming mammoth 200 wickets in only 33 games. Yasir Shah struck the Black Caps debutant Somerville out to achieve this scintillating feat.

The record was previously held by Australian leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett who reached 200 wickets in his 36th Test, against South Africa in Johannesburg in 1936.
