PM Imran Khan To Arrive In Karachi Today

Karachi (September 16, 2018): Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Karachi today, for the first time since assuming the office of the Premier.

During his day-long stay, PM Imran Khan will visit the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and offer Fateha besides presiding over meeting on law and order and ongoing projects, being executed with the assistance of the federation.

Prime Minister will chair all the meetings at State Guest House instead of Governor House.

Late on Sunday, Prime Minister will participate in fundraising dinner at Governor House and after that, he will return to Islamabad. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday chaired a high-level meeting at PM House to discuss security matters and bilateral relations with friendly countries.

The meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, DG ISI Lt. General Naveed Mukhtar, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other senior officials.

The spokesperson for PM House said the meeting discussed relations with friendly states besides exchanging views on security matters.The meeting has also discussed the PM Imran Khan maiden foreign visit to Saudi Arabia after assuming the charge and Afghan reconciliation process along with border issues.

The FM Shah Mehmood’s visit to Afghanistan has also been deliberated while FM briefed the meeting over the visit. Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated Mianwali Railcar and Rawalpindi Express on Friday.

“We recovered land worth Rs100 billion from the land mafia,” the premier said while addressing the inauguration ceremony. He lamented that large areas have been illegally occupied.The premier said, “We want to spend public money on people’s welfare.”

PM Imran also apprised the gathering about railway reforms. “The railway system currently in use is the same as that introduced by British rulers.” “We can repay our loans by selling railway land in Karachi,” he added.
