Islamabad (October 26, 2018): Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday, today will chair a meeting of the task force on five million housing scheme at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The representatives of all four provinces and ministers for housing, finance and planning will attend the meeting.

According to sources, the meeting to deliberate the legislative framework for implementation of the project and the establishment of an apex body to serve as a one-window facility for ensuring of an enabling environment.
The meeting will also draft the various financial models that could be followed to ensure maximum participation of the private sector on one hand and to ensure affordability of the housing facility for the low-income groups, on the other.
On October 22, the registration process for Naya Pakistan Housing Program was started.The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) opened its doors to citizens applying for a house under the first phase of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) initiated by the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government.
Minister of State for Interior, Shehryar Khan Afridi, who inaugurated Naya Pakistan Housing Authority Registration Center at NADRA Mega Centre Blue Area, said the target of government was to ensure the provision of five million affordable houses for underprivileged classes during next five years.Talking to media persons, the minister expressed the confidence that the programme would not only help realize the dream of a shelter for the poor but also create ample employment opportunities.
It will also attract local and foreign investment and stimulate about 40 related industries, he added.
