PM Khan Meets His Malaysian Counterpart

Kuala Lumpur (November 21, 2018): Prime Minister Imran Khan and his Malaysian counterpart Mahathir Mohamad held talks in Kuala Lumpur today on the entire gamut of bilateral relations.

According to details, PM Khan and his counterpart in Malaysia Mahathir Mohamad discussed ways and means to further bolster their cooperation in diverse fields.

In a joint press conference comprising Prime Ministers of both countries, Malaysian PM Mahathir Mohamad said that the two sides have agreed to continue the bilateral dialogue process in various domains.

Moreover, Prime Minister Imran Khan asserted that Islamabad wants to learn from the progress, development and leadership of Malaysia.

PM Khan also invited Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad to visit the country on March 23, 2019 for Pakistan Day celebrations. Mahathir Mohammad accepted the invitation and told the conference that he will visit Pakistan in March.

Furthermore, PM Khan admiring Mahathir Mohammad said that the Malaysian leader has totally transformed the country, rose per capita income and Gross Development Product (GDP).

“Apart from trade and future cooperation, we are looking forward to Malaysian cooperation in the tourism sector,” PM Imran Khan said.

Earlier today, upon the arrival of Pakistani Premier at the office of  Malaysian Prime Minister, Imran Khan was received by Mahathir Mohamad.

A guard of honour was also presented to Prime Minister Irman Khan on the occasion.

Earlier yesterday night (November 20), PM Imran Khan reached Kuala Lumpur on a two-day official visit of Malaysia.

He was received by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Minister in the PM Office of Government of Malaysia.

According to the official Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Twitter account, the delegation accompanying him comprises Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, and Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood.PM Khan, according to, state radio station, is the first head of state to visit the Southeast Asian country since Mahathir Mohammad became the Malaysian PM  for a second time earlier this year.

The prime minister’s visit to Malaysia will be the last of his trio of planned foreign visits since assuming the top office.

PM Khan has already been to Saudi Arabia and China, both of whom had assured him of financial assistance in the face of Pakistan’s mounting balance of payments crisis.On October 18, PM Khan and Malaysian PM Mahathir had held the conversation on the telephone, in which the former had emphasized Pakistan’s “close and cordial” relations with Malaysia.

PM Khan, highlighting the “need of high-level bilateral exchanges” between the two countries, had said that Pakistan and Malaysia should collaborate at an “operational level” so that they could benefit from each other’s expertise.
