ASHGABAT: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called on Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on Friday and discussed the Turkmenistan Afghanistan Pakistan India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Turkmenistan on two-day visit along with a delegation. Turkmenistan deputy prime minister and officials of Pakistani embassy welcomed Nawaz Sharif at the airport.
Matters of mutual interests, international affairs and flight operations were also discussed in the meeting. While talking about TAPI gas pipe line project, the PM said that the project will fulfill the energy requirements of not only Pakistan but also the requirement of other countries.
Prime Minister Nawaz Shair will participate in the global conference on sustainable Transport. The conference will discuss promotion and the role of sustainable transport towards achievement of 2030 Agenda for sustainable development. Prime Minister Nawaz Shari said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring prosperity in the region. He will also called on United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and will raise the issue of Indian aggression at Line of Control.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on foreign affairs, Tariq Fatemi and Irfan Siddiqui were also with him in the tour.
