NEW YORK: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called on his British counterpart Theresa May and informed her about Indian atrocious and deteriorating situation in occupied Kashmir.
Nawaz Sharif said that they will not disappoint their Kashmiri brothers at any cost and added that they will keep on reminding the international community of its decades-old commitment that have not been honored till today.
He urged the British PM to play her role to stop the bloodshed in occupied Kashmir. The PM said, “If the international community does not succeed in asking India to immediately end state oppression on the innocent people in Jammu and Kashmir, then this would encourage India to increase the intensity of the continuing state atrocities.”
Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s support for Kashmiri people in their just and legitimate struggle for self-determination and their commitment to the Kashmir cause was absolutely non-negotiable.
While British PM Theresa May appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in eradicating terrorism and extremism from the country. Bilateral issues of mutual interest and other issues were also discussed in the meeting. PM’s special assistant Tariq Fatemi, advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry were also present in the meeting.
