BEIJING: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Chinese counterpart Li Kaqiang met on the sidelines of ‘Belt and Road Forum’ today in Beijing.
According to the details, bilateral issues of mutual interest, regional and international matters and other issues were came under discussion in the meeting. It is pertinent to mention here that all four chief ministers were also present in the meeting along with PM Nawaz Sharif.
Progress on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was also reviewed in the meeting. Chinese Prime Minister Li Kaqiang welcomed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for participation in ‘Belt and Road Forum’.
Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had reached China to attend the two-day Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation beginning in Beijing on Sunday.
He is accompanied by a high level delegation including the four chief ministers and Federal Ministers Ishaq Dar, Saad Rafique, Khurram Dastgir, Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State Anusha Rehman and Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.
The Prime Minister will attend the inaugural session of the summit and the plenary meeting of high-level dialogue and the state banquet. He will also attend the leaders’ round table sessions on second day of the forum.
Nawaz Sharif will also hold meetings with President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Kaqiang to further promote bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. Many agreements are expected to be signed in connection with China Pakistan Economic Corridor during the visit.
The Prime Minister is also expected to meet world leaders on the sidelines of Belt and Road Forum. He will participate in an investment conference and meet with business and corporate leaders.
