KARACHI: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmed has warned of issuing contempt of court notices to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and Chief Minister of Sindh (CM) Murad Ali Shah if the concerned authorities fail to implement the orders regarding making Karachi Circular Railway functional within six months.
A three-member bench presided by CJP Gulzar Ahmed and comprising Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah, heard the case pertaining to restoration of Karachi Circular Railway at the Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry.
Supreme Court (SC) ordered to make Karachi Circular Railways (KCR) functional in six months.
During the hearing at Karachi registry, the Railway officials presented progress report on the KCR and the map of it.
Sindh advocate general Salman Talibuddin told that a major progress has been made in the KCR and it will be linked to residential areas around the city.
