ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the highly anticipated “Road to Makkah” project tomorrow (Friday).
The inauguration ceremony comes after project’s successful test at Islamabad Airport. Ten special counters have been linked with Madina and Jeddah Airport for the purpose.
The pre-clearance and immigration of 22 thousand Hajj pilgrims will be done at Islamabad Airport.
Addressing the ceremony, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony, Noor-ul-Haq Qadri termed the project as part of Premier Imran’s vision.
He thanked Saudi Arabia’s government for cooperating in facilitating Pakistani pilgrims.
According to Spokesperson of Ministry of Religious Affairs Imran Siddiqui, Saudi officials have set up special counters at Islamabad airport to clear immigration process of Hujjaj in Pakistan.
The spokesperson clarified that Road to Makkah project will be equally beneficial to pilgrims either intending to leave for Madina or Jeddah airports.
