PM to leave for US to attend UN General Assembly’s session

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will leave for United States today to attend United Nations’ General Assembly session.

Before his departure,  the Prime Minister held meetings with Kashmiri leadership and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to consult them about his visit to US and his address to UN General Assembly. During his meeting with Kashmiri leadership, the PM assured them that Pakistan will continue its moral, political and diplomatic support to Kashmiris in their struggle for right to self-determination.

A PM House spokesperson said that during the meeting Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif held consultation over the PM’s US visit. The PM expressed his satisfaction over national security situation and vowed to take the ongoing war against terrorism to its logical end.

Earlier, PM Nawaz Sharif visited Muzaffarabad, where he met with Hurryat leaders. He assured the Kashmiri leaders that Pakistan will continue its moral, political and diplomatic support of their struggle. He said that Pakistan will raise Kashmir issue in UN and other international forums.

Nawaz Sharif said that he would demand the UN General Assembly for implementation of Security Council’s resolutions regarding occupied Kashmir. Hurriyat leaders thanked the PM for taking them into confidence regarding his US visit.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will raise the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir and Indian terrorism against Pakistan in his address to the UN General Assembly. The PM will also meet with different international leaders during his visit to US.
