LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday issued a notice to the federation over the plea seeking suspension of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
As per details, the LHC heard a case on a plea seeking dissolution of PMDC filed by Association of Physicians and Surgeons chief Dr Asad Mirza.
As the hearing went underway, the petitioner’s lawyer pointed out that federation has breached constitution by demolishing the representation of Doctors Organizations in PMDC.
“PMDC ordinance 2019 is the clear violation of Supreme Court (SC) orders,” said petitioner counsel.
He further said that the members of PMDC have decreased to 20 from 54 members. “Nominating non-elected members in PMDC will harm the performance of the institution,” he continued.
The petitioner requested the court to suspend the PMDC ordinance 2019 by declaring it the collision with the constitution.
