Islamabad (October 02, 2017): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday amended it constitution, paving the way for Nawaz Sharif to return as party chief.
A meeting of party’s central executive committee (CEC) was held here, which approved an amendment ton party’s constitution, allowing disqualified member of parliament to lead the party.

The amendment was unanimously approved by the CEC.
The meeting of the CEC was held here at Punjab House with acting president Sardar Yaqub Nasir in the chair.
The PML-N members also endorsed a resolution tabled by Climate Change Minister Senator Mushahidullah Khan, reposing confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.They also paid tribute to the former prime minister for his services during his tenure.
Meanwhile, PML-N has also summoned a meeting of its general council on Tuesday to appoint Nawaz as the party’s president after his removal from office.Former senator and the party’s chief election commissioner, Chaudhry Jafar Iqbal, will apprise the members of schedule for the election of party president.
It is expected that Nawaz Sharif will be elected as party chief by the general council of the party unopposed.
