ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday once again offered the opposition to having similar investigation against all those named in Panama Papers’ leaks, saying that it is opposition not the government impeding the investigation into Panamagate.
Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday evening along with Talal Chaudhry and Daniyal Aziz, Muhammad Zubair said the sit-ins and protests were affecting the performance of the institutions.
They said that all institutions including Election Commission of Pakistan, Supreme Court of Pakistan and FBR worked on Panamagate as per the law of the land.
Daniyal Aziz said that the government drafted a new law on Panama issue and presented it to the opposition, but the opposition parties ‘dispersed’ after differences over the law.
He questioned Imran as to why he did not approach the relevant institutions some five months ago when the issue first surfaced.
Talal Chaudhry said that the country was passing through a crucial phase of its history and the time was not appropriate for sit-ins and public meetings. “This is high time to forge unity and face the international conspiracy against Pakistan,” he underlined. However, he said , the PTI wanted to do politics of dead bodies.
