PML-N Threatens To Protest Against Political Revenge

Lahore (October 16, 2018): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders on Tuesday have threatened to stage protest over political revenge activities against party leadership.

Talking to media, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Shehbaz Sharif was taken into the custody by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) despite working day and night for the development of Punjab.

She further warned of protest against the ex-Chief Minister (CM) Punjab’s detention.

Meanwhile, former Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the government is leading the country towards crisis with its political revenge.

PML-N will protest against the arrest of the party president, said Rana Sanaullah.

Earlier today, An accountability court granted NAB a 14-day extension in the physical remand of former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case.

Earlier, the decision was reserved verdict on the plea of NAB seeking an extension of Shehbaz Sharif’s remand of 15 days.

During the hearing, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Waris Ali Janjua requested the court to extend the remand of Shehbaz Sharif to probe the scandal. The court reserved the decision over anti-graft watchdog’s appeal.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president was transported to the court in a car with tinted windows. Shehbaz’s sons Hamza and Salman also reached the accountability court’s premises.

Citizens commuting to office and schools faced severe inconvenience.

According to the anti-graft body, Shehbaz cancelled the contract awarded to M/s Ch A Latif & Sons for infrastructure development of Ashiana Iqbal Housing Project and awarded it to CASA Developers.

“The former Punjab chief minister misused his powers and his actions caused a huge loss to the national exchequer,” the NAB prosecutor had said.
