GUJRANWALA: Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q), Kashif Mehr, succumbed to injuries following a deadly gun attack carried out in Gujranwala city on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Wapda Town of the city where unidentified men resorted to firing inside home, killing his security guard while Kashif Mehr left seriously wounded.
Mehr was shifted to nearby hospital but he succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Sources said that Mehr was prime accused in murder case of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) city-level president Khalid Humayun while he was released from prison cell two years ago after both parties agreed to compromise.
Heavy contingents of police deployed outside Mehr’s house while security measures were also tightened at the hospital.
Police sources claimed that a close relative of Kashif Mehr is suspected in the firing incident.
