Police Baton-Charge MQM-P Protestors in Karachi

KARACHI: In order to disperse protestors from outside CM House in Karachi, police used force and baton-charged the MQM-P demonstrators today (Wednesday). 

The MQM workers had staged a sit-in protest in front of the Sindh CM House against the Sindh local government act. Due to the sit-in, the traffic system was badly disrupted and the citizens faced severe difficulties.

According to the traffic police, Dr Ziauddin Road in front of the CM House was closed for traffic. Corridor 3 leading from Empress Market to Mazar-e-Quaid was also closed for traffic. 

In addition, traffic on the main roads around the CM House was affected, while the flow of traffic on the Guru Mandir, Golimar and Lasbela roads was also affected.

Meanwhile, former mayor of Karachi Wasim Akhtar said that they were there to record protest against the local government act. He said large number of workers are participating to protest against this black law.
