Lahore: Information Minister Punjab, Fayyaz Ul Hassan Chohan has said that the erradication of crimes and chasing criminal elements are the first priorities of the Punjab government for the purpose the Punjab police along with Usman Buzdar are active day and night to achieve this determination.
Lauding the services of the Punjab police, the Minister said that Punjab police policy measures for the benefit of the people are encouraging.
The Minister Informed that for the erradication of trasportation of drugs as many as 494 major groups were identified and legal action was taken in the last two years..
Punjab police identified as many as 336 gambling dens and action was taken against 311 groups, he added.
Fayyaz said that the police lodged cases against 300 rogues elements which endangered peace of the society.
He went on to say that the police recovered 460 properties from cluthces of the land mafia and apprehended 1200 accused.
The Minister said that as many as 12000 raids were conducted to eradicate illegal ammunition from the society and cancelled 1200 licences and more than 300 dealers were inspected.
Out of 13 lakhs complaints on the mobile police services center, the action on as many as 7 lakh complaints have been completed.
Information Minister informed that the government has initiated the precedentary measures for the erradication of torture and violence at the police stations of the province.
