KARACHI: A policeman was killed in firing near Hijrat colony area of the port city on late Saturday.
According to police, the firing incident occurred in Hijrat Colony area when a policemen was on his way back home on a motorbike with two other officials after being relieved of duty. Unknown assailants stopped them and opened fire on them.
The deceased cop was 29-years-old and identified as Zeeshan. He was the resident of Dehli colony and was appointed in police in 2011.
On the other hand, police and Rangers have detained several suspects in Karachi during a combing operation on Saturday night.
As per details, a search operation was conducted in areas of Sohrab Goth, Malir Cantt and Rashid colony. A heavy contingent of police and Rangers took part in the search operation. All the entry and exit points were sealed before the start of a search operation.
The operation was conducted in the wake of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 4) security.
