Politicians Condemn DI Khan Firing, Suicide Blast

ISLAMABAD: Several political leaders have decried the firing and suicide blast that took place on Sunday morning at two different spots in Dera Ismail Khan.

A check-post near Kotla Syedan was targeted by terrorists where two police personnel martyred whereas, the explosion took place at Trauma centre of DI Khan Teaching Hospital where seven died including three police officials. Altogether, five policemen died and 17 sustained injuries.

Foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, in a statement issued from Washington, termed the terror incidents “failed bid to disrupt peace”.

“Such acts of cowardice will not diminish our spirits. We will take rest only after eliminating terrorism from the roots”, Qureshi said.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto condemned the events and express grief on the martyrdom of policemen and civilian in the attacks.

JUI Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman also poured in his sorrow, questioning the progress of police and other law enforcing agencies.
