There are 285 candidates for 16 general seats, including nominees of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (16), Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (15), Awami National Party (14), Pakistan Peoples Party- Parliamentarians (13), Jamaat-i-Islami (13), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (5) Qaumi Watan Party (3) and independents (201).
The Election Commission of Pakistan has set up 1,897 polling stations across the region, previously called Fata. Of them, 554 have been declared highly sensitive.
