Number 13 is lucky for Pooja Bhatt who returns to face the camera after a 13-year self-imposed hibernation. She was last seen in Rahul Bose’s directorial debut, Everybody Says I’m Fine, in 2001. After that she concentrated on producing and directing movies.
Mirror has now learnt that Pooja will play a detective in Reema Kagti’s romcom, Mr Chaalu, which goes on floors in January 2015. Buzz is, the film’s producers, Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, were in talks with Tabu for the role. “But they later thought that Pooja is better suited to play a Lady Sherlock Holmes,” informed a source close to the production.
Mr Chaalu has Saif Ali Khan playing a Casanova while Kangana Ranaut is his love interest, Richa Chaddha will be seen playing one of the other girls in his life.
Confirming the news, Pooja said: “Ritesh messaged me: ‘Are you still acting?’ I shot back: ‘Once an actor, always an actor.’ My role is that of a no-nonsense woman which is pretty much me. She appears in the film just before the interval and stays till the end.”
