THARPARKAR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Wednesday said that Thar coal power project was an achievement at par with Pakistan’s nuclear tests.
“Thar coal project was a dream of Benazir Bhutto,” he said while addressing the inauguration ceremony of Thar coal power project.
He said that Benazir Bhutto founded black coal, adding that in 1996 attempt was made to end the project.
Earlier, Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari labeled the Thar coal power plant a “pride of Pakistan” and said that the entire country would be benefitted from the electricity generated by the newly constructed plant.
Addressing a ceremony after inaugurating the 660MWs coal power project in Thar, chairman PPP Bilawal said that this is one of the country’s “most successful projects”. Chairman PPP also revealed that this was a dream project of his late mother Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
“My late mother had dreamed to provide electricity to the entire country with Thar’s coal,” said Bilawal.
