Power Minister Announces To Add 26000 MW Electricity in System From Next Year

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Energy and power Umar Ayub Khan has said that the government is striving hard for the promotion of atomic energy.

Addressing a ceremony in National Electric Power Regularity Authority, Islamabad Federal Minister of Energy and power Umar Ayub Khan 60 percent of the energy has been generated in the country after expending dollars while the cost of energy production is much lower by using alternative sources.

Federal Minister of Energy and power said that Pakistan has an opportunity of billions of dollars of investment in the power sector and people wanted to invest in the power sector.

Umar Ayub announced that a solar power plant of a capacity of 500 MW will be planted with the cooperation of Saudi Arabia in Baluchistan adding that 26000 MW electricity will be distributed in the system from the next year.

He said that the ministry is taking measures to readdress customers complaints, however it is a duty power distributors to do this.

The Minister said that Afghanistan has vital significance in the whole region and Pakistan wanted power and gas from Central Asian countries which will bring to Pakistan passing through Afghanistan.
