PPP Blames N for Manipulating Resignation, Picture Leak Issues

Islamabad (June 06, 2017):After Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Nehal Hashmi took u-turn on the decision of his resignation and requested Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani not to accept it, opposition parties gave their response over the matter as well.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday termed the leaking of Hussain Nawaz photo and withdrawal of resignation by Nihal Hashmi as part of PML-N’s strategy.

Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah said that now the cat was out of the bag, adding that he had earlier said the government was itself behind Nihal Hashmi.

He said that he had pointed out on the very first day that the resignation was given just to calm down the situation, and it means nothing.

On the other hand Opposition Leader in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan had raised three questions over the leaking of Hussain Nawaz’s picture.

He asked: Who benefited from the picture’s leak? Who has the capacity and access to take picture?  And whose tradition it has been to leak picture?

Pakistan Peoples Party Senator Aitzaz Ahsan said everything is being done on the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Regarding diplomatic row between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, he added that Qatar situation would directly impact Sharif family’s business  and politics.

On the other hand, the opposition members said Nehal Hashmi is just a side actor, and action against him was taken just to befool the media and the nation.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary Information Shafqat Mahmood remarked that Nehal Hashmi’s request to not accept his resignation has exposed all the drama.

Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed said that all of this is being conspired according to the plan. He also claimed that JIT can take a big decision in its interrogation and Nawaz Sharif might get disqualified.

It is to be mentioned here that earlier suspended Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nihal Hashmi met Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani at his chamber and requested him not to accept his resignation.

Sources said that Hashmi, who was summoned by Chairman Senate for confirmation of his resignation from the Upper House of the Parliament, withdrew his resignation during the meeting.

It is to be mentioned here that Hashmi was made to resign after his incendiary speech threatening those investigating Prime Minister’s son of ‘consequences’ surfaced last week.

The PML-N besides asking him to resign from Senate had also suspended his party membership.

He had sent his hand-written resignation to Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani on the instructions of the party. However, Rabbani had ruled that Hashmi was required to appear before him in person for confirmation of his resignation. On Tuesday, he met Chairman Senate but instead of conforming his resignation he withdrew it.
