SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday demanded Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rasheed to tender his resignation after the occurrence of Akbar Express’s accident in Rahim Yar Khan which claimed 10 lives and injured near hundred passengers.
In his statement issued from Sukkur, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said he was in a state of shock after hearing the news of trains’ collision.
“Train accidents are becoming a routine in the country whereas the Railways Minister seems helpless. Apparently, he [Sheikh Rasheed] is responsible for the incident and there should be an inquiry held against him”, the PPP chairman.
He urged the federal government to announce compensations money for the bereaved families on an urgent basis.
