Islamabad (March 11, 2018): Pakistan People’s Party has summoned the meeting of top party leadership in Islamabad on Sunday for discussion on party strategy and possible nominee for the Senate chairman, deputy chairman election.
According to sources, the top party leadership would mull over the strategy especially after the Balochistan chief minister nominated an independent candidate for the senate chairman and announced support from PPP.

The top PPP leadership is of the view that nominee from Balochistan is not an experienced lawmaker and the position of Senate chairman requires an experienced person for there. The party is of the opinion that running affairs without an experienced parliamentarian will benefit the ruling party.
The leaders who would be participating in the meeting include Aitzaz Ahsan, Raza Rabbani, Khursheed Ahmed Shah, Yousuf Raza Gillani, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sherry Rehman, Farhatullah Babar and others.
