PPP Workers, Police Clash In Islamabad Before Bilawal’s NAB Appearance

ISLAMABAD: Police pushed back the Pakistan Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) workers as they clashed on Wednesday as their party leaders Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari are set to appear before National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The PPP chairman and co-chairman are set to appear before the antigraft body in connection to the inquiries of Fake Bank Accounts and Mega Money Laundering cases.

The district administration of the federal capital has taken strict security measures around the NAB office to avoid any mishap.

Police have stopped a band of party workers trying to cross the barriers and were led by the party’s senior leader Farhat Ullah Babar.

However, PPP leadership has condemned this act of police.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari will appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) today (Wednesday) while party directed the workers to gather outside the anti-graft watchdog office.

According to details, Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Zardari will be accompanied by party leaders and lawyers upon their appearance before the NAB.

Earlier, party senior leader Nayyar Bukhari said that he was unaware over the issue of appearing of former president Asif Ali Zardari before NAB, however, Bilawal Bhutto accompanying by other party leaders will appear before the NAB.

Foolproof security arrangements have been finalized. Around 550 personnel from Rangers and police will be deployed outside NAB office.
