CANTERBURY: Pakistan defeated Northamptonshire by eight wickets in a second practice match played at County Cricket Ground, Northampton ahead of World Cup 2019.
Batting first, Northamptonshire set 274-run target for Pakistan by losing six wickets. Each of the bowlers used by Pakistan picked up one wicket.
In response, Pakistan easily chased down the target by losing only two wickets. Openers Imam-ul-Haq and Zaman made light work of the hosts’ bowlers, putting on 157 for the first wicket with the latter bringing up his three figures off 77 balls before he was bowled by Nathan Buck four balls later for 101.
Babar Azam also contributed crucial 68 runs in chasing down the target.
In the first practice match, Pakistan beat Kent by 100 runs as Allrounder Imad Wasim hit a career-best List A score of 117 not out.
