Beijing (June 10, 2018): President Mamnoon Hussain met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Qingdao today.
Both the leaders were agreed to work together to further enhance economic ties and increase the trade volume between the two countries.
The Leaders discussed matters of mutual interest including bilateral, contemporary regional and global issues. Trade, energy, security, culture, education and people-to-people contact were identified as avenues for enhanced future cooperation. The leaders agreed that the bilateral trade between the two nations has tremendous potential.
Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi exchanged pleasantries during the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao.
The two leaders were photographed shaking hands after a press conference by Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Hussain and Modi are among leaders who attended the media briefing after the culmination of the 18th SCO summit.
Earlier, Jinping gave the leaders of Pakistan and India a “special welcome” to their first summit of the SCO, since their countries joined the group last year.
