ISLAMABAD: President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan have extended their greetings to the entire nation on the occasion of Pakistan in their separate messages here on Saturday.
In their messages, both of the national leaders have extended their greeting on this auspicious occasion and highlighted the importance of constituting an Islamic welfare state.
President Arif Alvi in his message said, “We have worked hard to curb the menaces of extremism and terrorism now its time to work for its economic growth by a collective struggle.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan said, “We trying to form a society where every unit of the society can participate in the economic and social growth of the country.”
“We need to remember the sacrifices of our Kashmiri brothers who are facing Indian oppression since the past seven decades,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that the nation is celebrating Pakistan Day today across the country with traditional zeal and fervour.
The day marks the adoption of historic Lahore Resolution this day in 1940 that provided a framework for the realization of the goal of a separate homeland for Muslims of South Asia.
The Day dawned with a 31-one-gun salute in the Federal Capital and twenty-one-gun salute in provincial capitals.
Special prayers were offered in mosques after Fajr prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country. The national flag will be hoisted on all major government buildings.
