ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of several areas of Karachi owing to rainfall that has been intermittently hitting the metropolis for past two days.
While holding a meeting with Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Haider Zaidi, PM Imran inquired and took notice of Karachi’s extreme conditions.
Sources said PM regretted that the Sindh Government was handed billions of rupees, but none of it was used to facilitate public.
Sources added that PM instructed Ali Haider Zaidi to coordinate with Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhter for resolving issues faced by Karachiites.
In another development, Waseem Akhter has inked a letter to the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, seeking help to improve metropolis’s situation.
Reciprocating to the call, Maritime Affairs Minister Ali Haider Zaidi has asked officials of FWO and NDMA for help.
