LAHORE: Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq has said that the western powers have made seminaries a target after the Peshawar incident. Propaganda against seminaries to appease imperialist powers is not right, he said. He also asked prime minister to consult leaders of seminaries over the National Action Plan.
The JI chief met leaders of Ittehad-e-Tanzeemat-Madaris at Mansoora, Lahore to discuss National Action Plan. Talking to media afterwards the JI chief said that there is consensus among seminaries that terrorists have no religion. All the seminaries strongly condemned the Peshawar incident and it is unfair to make them a focus of criticism, he added.
The religious scholars and the seminaries are most loyal to the Constitution and propaganda against them to appease imperialist powers would result in increasing problems, he added.
