Protests Against Trump’s Infuriating Statement Nationwide

Islamabad (August 28, 2017): Protests against the infuriating statement of American President Donald Trump were staged in many cities across the country today.

In Peshawar, protestors led by dissident provincial legislature of PTI Ziaullah Afridi staged an anti-US rally outside the Khyber Pkhtwankhwa Assembly. The protestors chanted slogans in favor of the Pak Army and against the US.

In Khyber Agency, a protest rally condemning the statement of US President Donald Trump against Pakistan was staged.  The participant of the protest rally that started from Jamurd carried placards and chanted slogans vowing to protect the national sovereignty and integrity at any cost.The Peshawar-Torkham Highway and gate at Pak-Afghan border was blocked for all sorts of traffic during the rally.

Another protest rally was taken out in Ghalanai, the headquarters of Mohmand Agency. Addressing the rally, tribal elders condemned the statement of US President Donald Trump against Pakistan. The speakers lauded the sacrifices of security forces to eliminate terrorists from the country. The protesters blocked Ghalanai-Bajaur Road and later dispersed peacefully.Traders and civilians took out a ‘Down With America’ rally in yet another part of Khyber Pakhtwankhwa province- Karak. The protestors demanded closing the NATO supply line and closer relations with Russia.

Meanwhile, a ‘Down with America’ rally was also taken out in Sui area of Balochistan province. The rally started from Pakistan House and concluded at Allahwali Chowk. The protestors burnt effigy of US President Donald and chanted loud slogans against him.

On August 22, President Donald Trump warned Pakistan that Washington will no longer tolerate Pakistan offering “safe havens” to extremists.

“We can no longer be silent about Pakistan’s safe havens for terrorist organizations,” Trump declared, outlining a new US security strategy in South Asia.“Pakistan has much to gain from partnering with our effort in Afghanistan. It has much to lose by continuing to harbor criminals and terrorists.” Going further, Trump suggested that military and other aid to Washington s nuclear-armed ally is at stake if it does not clamp down on extremism.

“We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting,” he said.

“That will have to change and that will change immediately,” he said. “It is time for Pakistan to dedicate to civilization and order and peace.”
