Dubai (February 23, 2018): Karachi Kings has set a reasonable target of 150 runs against Quetta Gladiators in today’s first match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Karachi Kings scored 149 runs for the loss of nine wickets as none of their batsmen could reach fifty against Quetta Gladiators.
The main scorers for the Kings were South African Colin Ingram (41) and Pakistan’s Khurram Manzoor (35).
For Gladiators, Australian pace bowler Shane Watson claimed three wickets while young West Indian pacer Jofra Archer and Pakistan’s Anwar Ali took two wickets each.
Earlier, Kings, captained by Imad Wasim in this year’s Pakistan Super League (PSL), won the toss and opted to bat first.
Joe Denly was run out by Shane Watson for 14, leaving Kings at 34-1.
Babar Azam, the next man in, was caught behind off a Rahat Ali delivery for 10.
Khurram Manzoor, after a promising start, was caught in the deep for 35 off Anwar Ali, as Kings struggled at 83-3 after 12.2 overs.
But an aggressive batting display by Colin Ingram lifted the team. He was caught at 41 (made off 21 balls).
