PSL 4: Islamabad beat Karachi Kings by five wickets

DUBAI: Asif Ali blitz helped Islamabad United to register their fourth win of the tournament by thrashing Karachi Kings in the 18th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 4) fourth edition.

Batting first Karachi Kings had set 169-run target for Islamabad United. In response, United chased down the target in 19th over courtesy Asif Ali’s 36 balls 75 runs. He was well supported by Philip Salt who scored 46 runs off 38 balls.

Umer Khan was pick of the bowler from United side as he managed to get two wickets. Meanwhile, Muhammad Amir, Imad Wasim, Usman Shinwari picked up one wicket each.

Asif Ali was declared player of the match.

Earlier, Islamabad United had won the toss and elected to field first against Karachi Kings.

Karachi’s opener Babar Azam smashed  68 runs off 50 balls with the help of 10 boundaries.

Livingstone and Azam put together 78 runs for the second wicket partnership.

Kings are currently at the bottom of the points table with two wins and three losses while defending champions Islamabad United are placed third with four wins and three losses.
