PSX Continue in Negative Zone, Sheds 478 Points

KARACHI: Following the trend set on Wednesday the preceding session, stocks continued to bleed as the index slumped by 478 points to finish its second successive session in the red.

The ongoing tensions over Kashmir between India and Pakistan also kept sentiments in check and added to the market woes.

At close, the benchmark KSE 100-share Index recorded a decrease of 478  points, to settle at 30,158 points.

Shares of 299 companies were traded. At the end of the day, 76 tocks closed higher, 223 declined.

Dollar decreased by 6 paisa in interbank and closed at 157.22 while it downed by 20 paisa in the open market and closed at 157.50.

The gold declined by Rs 200 per tola and closed at 89900 per tola while gold prices decreased by $ 8 per ounce and reached at $ 1537 per ounce in the international market.
