PSX Slips to Negative Zone as Sheds 19 Points

KARACHI: After two days gain the KSE-100 index closed with the loss of 15 pints at 33,840.

The market took off to a positive start and the index spiralled upwards to touch intraday high by 308 points as investors took courage on release of further details concerning the International Monetary Fund package and the Asian Development Bank presser saying that it planned to support Pakistan by lending up to $10 billion for various development projects in the next five years.

The share 0f 149 companies witnessed down and 115 gained after rapid ups and downs.

The dollar again on the rise as gained 51 paisa in interbank and reached at 157.88 and in the open market it gained 80 paisa and closed at 158.50.

Gold prices have also gained Rs 1300 per tola as it reached 80300 at the close of the day. In the international market gold price jumped by dollar 4 per ounce and reached at 1396 per ounce.
