PTI, ANP Rally against Delay in FATA’s Merger with KP  

Peshawar (October 9, 2017: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Awami National Party (ANP) on Monday took out a joint rally against the delay in the implementation of Fata reforms.

The rally is en route to Islamabad from Peshawar which is primarily against the delay in merger of the tribal belt with KP, which the FATA Reforms Committee had proposed in its recommendations regarding mainstreaming of the belt.

The protesters, including political activists from the tribal areas, left from the Peshawar toll plaza.The protesters will stage a sit-in at Islamabad Press Club after reaching the federal capital. The organizers said they would proceed towards D-Chowk in the Red Zone if the government did not pay any heed to their demands.ANP Leader Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the rally demands federal government to immediately abolish the FCR law, adding that if their demands are not accepted, the sit-in can be prolonged.

KP Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar, former federal minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, former provincial minister Aqil Shah, Haroon Bilour and MNA Alhaj Shahji Gul are participants in the rally.
