Islamabad (December 19, 2017): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday, through a letter, to investigate the closure of Pakistan Steel Mills and financial irregularities in it.
Through letter the PTI leader and chairman NA committee on industrial and production Asad Umer apprised the NAB that the hundred of thousands employees of Pakistan Steel were in dire economical condition for not receiving proper salaries and pension.
He informed the NAB that after the disconnection of gas the country’s biggest industrial unit has been shut that caused the loss of 1.5 billion rupees monthly to national exchequer.
He mentioned that the non-payment of salaries and pensions has caused the severe financial crunch that let to the employees to think suicide.
He expressed hope that NAB will take action on the issue on priority basis to take to the task of the responsible persons and will draft the strategy to save this national asset.
