PTI Challenges Repealing NAB Ord in Sindh in SHC

Karachi (August 15, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Tuesday challenged the repealing of applicability of NAB Ordinances to departments and autonomous bodies controlled by the provincial government in Sindh.

President PTI Karachi Ali Zaidi and PTI MPA Khurram Sheir Zaman filed separate petitions in Sindh High Court (SHC) challenging the Sindh Assembly’s recently passed law repealing the applicability of NAB Ordinance to departments and autonomous bodies controlled by Sindh government.

In the petitions, the petitioners have pleaded the court to declare the law passed by Sindh Assembly repealing the applicability of NAB Ordinance as null and void for being ultra vires of the constitution.

They alleged that the Sindh government while repealing the law was trying to hide its corruption.

Talking to media after filing the reference, PTI leaders said that Sindh government revoked NAB jurisdiction in the province to protects its interests. They pledged to go at any length against the Sindh Assembly’s law.

Ali Zaidi said that two separate petitions were filed today in SHC. One was on behalf of the party and the other was filed by as member of Sindh Assembly, he added.

President PTI Sindh Dr Arif Alvi said that the move by the Sindh government was to stop anti-corruption watchdog from taking action against corrupt people.

He also raised a new slogan “Ab Aai Hen Teri Bari,,,Go Zardari Go Zardari” (Now its your turn; Go Zardari Go Zardari)
