PESHAWAR: Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, on Tuesday supported the demand of father of Mashal Khan, the student of Abdul Wali Khan University (AWKU) lynched by violent mob, to rename the University after him.
After meeting Mashal’s father in Swabi to condole over the murder of his son, Imran tweeted that the University should be renamed after Mashal Khan so that his memory will live on.
He said that during his meeting with Mashal’s father, he demanded that the University be renamed after Mashal so that he his son memory will remain forever. The PTI chief said that he supported the demand and would make all out efforts to fulfill the demands.
Earlier, while condoling with the family of Mashal Khan in Swabi, the PTI chief said that he can feel the pains of Mashal’s family. He vowed that those involved in the murder would be made an example no matter which party they belong to.
He said that Mashal did not commit blasphemy rather the reason was something else but blasphemy was used as cover.
