PTI Councillor Killed, Seven Injured In Gujranwala

Gujranwala (August 10, 2018): A union councillor belonging to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was killed and seven others were injured during a clash in Faisal Town, area of Gujranwala.

According to the details, unidentified persons opened fire on PTI activists in Faisal Town. The deceased was identified as Afzal Mehar, general councillor of UC-31.

While Munib, Faisal, Shoaib, Muhammad Ali, Afzal and Imran received bullet injuries. Rescue officials shifted the bodies and the injured to the hospital.Sources say the clash started after a heated debate between the workers of two rival parties.

Earlier on July 25, several people were injured in a clash between supports of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz in Sheikhupura on Tuesday night.

According to the details, the workers of PTI and PML-N scuffled in Saleem Kot area of Sheikhupura.

Many people from both sides were injured due to the use of battens and stones. Police rushed to the scene as it received information about the clash and disperse the people.

Rescue officials shifted the injured to the hospital. PML-N workers blocked the Lahore Road after the clash. PML-N leader Mian Javed Latif told the journalist that a local leader of their party had been kidnapped. Police launched the investigation into the issue.Earlier on July 23, two got injured in a scuffle between PTI and PML-N workers in Gujranwala.

According to the details, sticks and bottles were freely used in during a brawl between PTI and PML-N workers in Nawan Pind area of Gujranwala.

The two injured were shifted to the hospital after information, while the investigation into the matter is underway.
