Lahore (Sep 9, 2017): A local court on Saturday directed estranged PTI MNA Ayesha Gulalai to submit reply by October 16 on a defamation suit filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf over leveling what PTI said baseless allegations against party chief Imran Khan.
PTI central media coordinator Javed Badar had filed defamation suit against rebellious lawmaker.
Badar filed the suit after Gulalai did not respond a legal legal notice sent to her on August 2 through his lawyer Ahsan Javed.
The suit demanded the court to direct Gualai to tender public apology to PTI leadership for defaming through baseless allegations.
It also pleaded the court to direct the lawmaker to pay Rs 30 million as compensation to PTI leadership for damaging reputation and integrity by the baseless allegations, as these had caused immense agony, mental torture and shock to the Chairman PTI Imran Khan and his supporters and party workers.
The court while directing Gulalai to file comments on the suit adjourned further hearing till October 16, 2017.
