Islamabad (May 02, 2018): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday has demanded to sack Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah over his misogynist remarks against party’s women.
Refusing to accept the apology tendered by Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehabz Sharif, PTI has decided to raise the issue on the floor of the National Assembly.
Earlier, PTI lawmaker Murad Raas had submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly condemning Sanaullah’s statement whereas PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi had also announced protest against PML-N leaders’ filthy language. “We strongly condemn uncivilized and anti-parliamentary language,” he added.While strongly condemning the remarks, PTI Chief Imran Khan had said that in the past 30 years, these people have always disrespected women which is against our religion and culture. I want to thank our women for coming out in such huge numbers”, Khan stated in a Twitter message.
Earlier on Tuesday, the chief minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif offered apology over the disgraceful statement by the provincial law minister Rana Sanaullah against the PTI women workers particularly who attended the Sunday’s rally.During the meeting with council of Pakistan newspapers editors (CPNE) delegation chief minister said that he apologized if anyone hurt from Sanas’ disgraceful remarks.
Commenting over the next election, he said that the Pakistan’s bright future attached with the provision of equal level filed to each party in the next election.
He lashed over Imran for fooling people and said that Imran was given opportunity to implement his 11-point agenda, however he did not take the advantage and only waste the time in sit-in.
Punjab Govt Apologies The Punjab government had also distanced itself from misogynistic remarks issued by PML-N leaders Rana Sanaullah and Tallal Chaudhry against female participants of a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) rally held in Lahore on Sunday .
After the comments sparked backlash against the PML-N leaders, Punjab Government Spokesperson Malik Ahmed Khan condemned the remarks.
“Be it Abid Sher Ali, Rana Sanaullah, Tallal Chaudhry or Imran Khan, I cannot tolerate this as these women are our mothers, sisters and daughters,” Malik said.Sanaullah Lewd Remarks
Sanaullah, while speaking to reporters outside the Punjab Assembly yesterday, made objectionable comments about the women who attended the rally, saying: “The women who attended the rally were not from honourable families because their dance moves implied where they had actually come from.”
PML-N leader Abid Sher Ali had also made insulting remarks about PTI’s Shireen Mazari during his address in Faisalabad.
