PTI reiterates demand for PM’s resignation

ISLAMABAD (May 03, 2017): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) again reiterated its demand calling upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to step down to paving the way for fair and transparent investigation by the JIT in Panamagate scandal.

Talking to media outside Supreme Court of Pakistan after hearing of Panama judgement’s implementation case, PTI leader Naeem-ul-Haq said that Nawaz Sharif had lost moral authority to continue as Prime Minister by lying to the nation and Parliament.

He added that the Prime Minister lied to the nation regarding Panama Leaks and Dawn Leaks as well. He added that the Prime Minister did not demonstrate loyalty to the country by concealing facts in Dawn Leaks.

He claimed that efforts were being made to protect and save Maryam Nawaz in the scandal.

PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said that Panama Leaks was not personal matter of Imran Khan rather an issue of 20 million people of the country.

MNA Arif Alvi said that investigations were being carried out in different countries of the world regarding Panama Leaks. He  termed the talks of rubbishing the scandal as laughable.

It is to be mentioned here that the SC’s special implementation bench on Wednesday rejected names proposed by State Bank of Pakistan and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for the proposed JIT, which will investigate as to how Sharif family transferred money to Qatar. The court while rejecting the names directed heads of SECP and SBP to appear before the apex court on Friday.
