Lahore (September 8, 2017): Stringent security arrangements are in place for PTI’s show of power at Qurtuba Chowk on Jail Road later today.
According to details 1,500 police personnel including one SP, five DSPs, and SHOs will perform the security duty at the venue of the public gathering and along the routes leading to it.
In addition, 19 inspectors, 41 patrolling officers, and 300 Wardens of the Traffic Police will also be on the road to ensure smooth flow of traffic. The traffic coming from Jail Road will be diverted to Shadman Market while those heading to Eden Market will be diverted to Tollinton Market Ferozepur Road; traffic coming from Ganga Ram Chowl will be diverted to left turn towards Lawrence Road; and traffic coming from Temple Road will be diverted towards Abid Market.
Similarly, traffic coming from Bhawalpur Road will be diverted to Janazagah Jain Mandir while the road from Ganga Ram Chowk to Qurtaba Chowk would remain closed for traffic.
The surrounding areas will be patrolled by the personnel of the Dolphin and other police forces.
